Robert Suarez Blows First Save Of Season Tuesday
6 months agoSan Diego Padres closer Robert Suarez was dealt his first blown save of the season in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Phillies. Suarez entered the game to pitch the bottom of the eighth inning up by one with two outs and bases empty, immediately getting Trea Turner to fly out. He stayed on to pitch the ninth, but allowed three consecutive singles to tie the game and lost the game on an RBI ground-rule double. Despite this hiccup, the 33-year-old has been a huge fantasy asset this season, converting 17 saves with a 1.21 ERA, an 8.49 K/9 rate, and a 1.82 BB/9 rate. There is no reason to think Suarez will not continue to be a fantasy All-Star.
