5 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Robbie Ray has a new over-the-top motion in his delivery out of the windup this year that he's hoping will help him create better timing and a more direct finish to the plate. Ray threw 14 first-pitch strikes to the 15 batters he faced in his Cactus League outing on Thursday, and he didn't walk a single hitter. The left-hander has an excellent 11.1 K/9 in his six big league seasons, but his 4.1 BB/9 gives fantasy owners fits and makes him a volatile fantasy starter. The strikeouts are definitely worth chasing, though, and Ray could really become attractive if he can cut down on his free passes.
