Beginning a 10-game road trip on Monday night in Los Angeles, the Philadelphia Phillies got off to a solid start against the Dodgers. In the first inning, starting outfielder Rhys Hoskins scored the game’s first run, with three more runs added to the lead in the second. After that, however, there was no further scoring until the sixth, when the home team pulled off a stretch of five runs scored over three innings. In the ninth, Hoskins stepped up to the plate again with two outs and a one-run deficit. With two strikes, he fouled a ball off his face and walked off the plate holding a towel to his bloodied mouth. There are no further updates, but we’ll provide them as soon as they’re made public.--RDelgado
