Rhett Lowder Allows Six Runs In Double-A Start
6 months agoCincinnati Reds starting pitcher prospect Rhett Lowder struggled in his most recent start with Double-A Chattanooga. Facing the Pensacola Blue Wahoos, he threw five innings, allowing eight hits, six earned runs, one walk, and two home runs. The 22-year-old righty struck out six. Overall, Lowder has had mixed results since his promotion to Double-A at the beginning of May. Through 34 innings, he has a 7.15 ERA and an .890 OPS against. Cincinnati's top prospect (per MLB.com), Lowder is expected to make his MLB debut sometime this year. However, if he doesn't turn things around in the minors, it may not happen until 2025.
