Calgary Flames defenseman Rasmus Andersson revealed on Saturday that he played the final 12 games of the season with a broken fibula. He sustained the injury while blocking a shot against the Seattle Kraken on March 25. The Swedish blue-liner featured in all but one game in 2024-25, sitting out the team's regular-season finale. Andersson struggled to make an impact late in the season and had a disappointing campaign in general. The 28-year-old collected 31 points (11 goals, 20 assists) in 81 appearances, marking his lowest scoring total in four years. Next season will be the final year of Andersson's six-year, $27.3 million contract.--Taavi Pailk
