Rashaad Penny Runs Well In Backup Role
6 years agoSeattle Seahawks rookie running back Rashaad Penny performed well against the Cardinals on Sunday, even if it was from a backup role. With usual starter Chris Carson out due to a hip injury, it seemed likely that Penny would get the start because he's served as the No. 2 back all season. However, head coach Pete Carroll decided to opt with experience by putting Mike Davis in the starting role and keeping Penny as the No. 2 again. Penny seemed to take it in stride and put up 49 yards on nine carries, but it does imply that even if Carson is sidelined with injury again this season, Penny won't necessarily be the guy who gets the gig.
