Raimel Tapia Walks Off Arizona
6 years agoGoing into the 11th inning of Monday's affair, Colorado Rockies outfielder Raimel Tapia was 0-for-4 with a walk. When the game was on the line though, he came through. Following an Ian Desmond "double" in the extra frame, Tapia kept his cool and smacked a seeing-eye single through the middle to bring home the winning run. Tapia has been tasked with a big job while usual leadoff man Charlie Blackmon has been sidelined with a strained calf, and so far, he's been doing pretty well. In his four leadoff games, Tapia has gone 4-for-19 with two walks and two runs scored. He's also made multiple amazing defensive grabs. Tapia isn't necessarily going to pack the scoresheet the way Blackmon does, but he's a pretty good fill-in for most teams.
