Raimel Tapia Hits Pinch-Hit Homer
5 years agoColorado Rockies outfielder Raimel Tapia was called on to pinch-hit in the sixth inning of Saturday's ballgame with the Dodgers, and he came through, drilling a line-drive home run to left field. The shot gave the Rockies the lead, but the bullpen would quickly squander it. Tapia has been relegated to fourth outfielder duty, starting just two games in the last 12 days, and his numbers have suffered due to the limited chances. As Tapia bides his time, regular outfielders Charlie Blackmon, David Dahl, and Ian Desmond stay healthy and have all gotten hot, so there's no real hope for Tapia's situation to change anytime soon. Outside of visits to American League parks, it looks like Tapia's stuck with pinch-hitting for the foreseeable future.
