Pyotr Kochetkov Frustrates Flyers With A Shutout
2 years agoCarolina Hurricanes goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov notched his fourth shutout of the campaign with a 19-save effort against Philadelphia on Thursday, backstopping his crew to a 1-0 victory. Andrei Svechnikov potted the lone goal with the man advantage early in the game. Kochetkov hadn't played in the big league since Jan. 15. He was an emergency call-up from the AHL Wednesday after Antti Raanta (undisclosed) hurt himself in Tuesday's victory over. The Hurricanes have been blessed with three in-form goalies this season, and Kochetkov has played his part in the team's success with an 11-4-5 record, giving up only 2.21 goals per game with a .917 save percentage. Raanta's injury isn't deemed to be serious, but Carolina has a back-to-back scheduled for the weekend, so we could see more of Kochetkov very soon.
