Philip Rivers Overcomes Early Struggles
6 years agoLos Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers was one of the key reasons LA took down the Chiefs on Thursday night, but it didn’t look too promising early on. Rivers’ first pass of the evening was picked off, as well as his last pass of the first half. The second interception was particularly painful because it came in the opponent’s end zone while LA was down by just seven points. The fourth quarter belonged to Rivers though, as he guided the Chargers back from a 14-point deficit that included multiple fourth-down throws into damn near non-existent windows. He capped it off by completing a wide-open pass to Mike Williams for a two-point conversion to end the game. What started as a terrible evening for Rivers finished up as an application for the Hall of Fame.
