5 years agoNew York Rangers forward Pavel Buchnevich will start the year playing alongside Mika Zibanejad and Artemi Panarin at even strength and on the top power-play unit. There was speculation that Kaapo Kakko would get the first shot at playing with Zibanejad and Panarin, but heading into game one, Buchnevich has been the third forward working with them in practice. Heading into his fourth season in the NHL, Buchnevich is coming off of a 0.59 points-per-game rate, which was the best of his career, and is now set up for the best usage he has ever seen.
