Paul Goldschmidt Hits .063 In NLCS
5 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals first baseman Paul Goldschmidt went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts as the Cardinals were swept out of the playoffs by the Nationals in the NLCS. After hitting .429 with two home runs in the NLDS against the Braves, Goldschmidt went 1-for-16 against the Nationals. To add insult to injury, the slugger struck out nine times over his final 12 at-bats of the season. Goldschmidt got off to a slow start this season but still finished with 34 home runs and 97 runs batted in. It will be a long winter for Goldschmidt and the Cardinals offense after laying a dud these past four games.
