Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt went 0-for-2 with two walks in the 2-1 loss to the Washington Nationals. The Diamondbacks have been in a team hitting slump lately, and Goldschmidt appears to be leading the charge with a .075 batting average in the month of May so far. He's also only rocking a .329 OPS in May as well, .100 of that coming from slugging percentage. Despite consistently walking like he normally does, he just cannot put contact on the ball right now. After batting .297 in April, his massive slump has moved his season batting average down to .216 with a .735 OPS in 139 at-bats including four home runs, 12 RBI, 25 runs and two stolen bases. Goldschmidt ranks as one of the top options in fantasy baseball, and he will eventually find his way out of this slump, just needs a confidence builder to work off of. While he should still be started, we don't blame you if he rides the bench for a bit.--Caden
