The Cleveland Guardians will promote left-handed pitching prospect Parker Messick from Triple-A Columbus to make his debut Wednesday against the Arizona Diamondbacks, according to Guardians Prospective. A second-round pick from Florida State in 2022, Messick has held his own during his first Triple-A action this season. Across 20 starts and 98 2/3 innings, the 24-year-old has posted a 3.47 ERA with a 1.22 WHIP, 119 strikeouts, and 42 walks. MLB Pipeline ranks Messick 12th among Guardians prospects and notes that he has "a high floor as at least a back-of-the-rotation starter." With Cleveland having optioned lefty Joey Cantillo on Sunday, Messick could have a shot at sticking in the rotation if he pitches well against the Diamondbacks.--Connor Byrne
