2 weeks agoMemphis Grizzlies power forward Jaren Jackson Jr. maintained his recent good scoring form on Sunday, notching 21 points in a 122-102 win over Golden State, shooting 8-for-15 from the field and 3-for-6 from downtown. He also added five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal to his line. Jaren Jackson Jr. has struggled for consistency this season, but he's now dropped 20-plus points in four of his past five appearances. He'll be in a good spot to continue the run on Tuesday against the Rockets, who are giving up the ninth-most points per 48 minutes to opposing power forwards this season.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoMemphis Grizzlies point guard JA Morant made it two double-doubles in two games on Sunday, finishing a 122-102 win over the Warriors with 11 points and 10 assists. It wasn't a completely successful night, as Morant shot just 4-for-12 from the field and his line included five turnovers, but he helped the team to get the job done. Morant added seven rebounds and one steal to his line as well. The Grizzlies are suddenly streaking and Morant is at the heart of things, averaging close to a double-double this month with 19.3 points and nine rebounds. He is set for a fascinating battle against Russell Westbrook next. The rookie had a nice 23-6-5 line in this season's first game against the Rockets which didn't feature Westbrook, so Morant's life could be more difficult this time around.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoMemphis Grizzlies center Jonas Valanciunas dominated the Golden State Warriors on Sunday, finishing a 122-102 win with 31 points, 19 rebounds and two blocks. He shot 13-for-17 from the field and even hit one three-pointer. There are some matchups that just seem to fit Valanciunas like a glove, and he now has two 30-point performances this month. The next matchup against the Rockets isn't a perfect one, but Clint Capela (heel) missed Houston's last game and his absence would make it a lot easier for Valanciunas, who bagged a 10-point, 10-rebound in this season's first meeting with the Rockets.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoPhoenix Suns forward Kelly Oubre Jr. stepped up with Ricky Rubio and Devin Booker struggling on Sunday to breakout and record 25 points with a career-high 15 rebounds to help secure the win over the Hornets. Oubre Jr. did not stop there as he added three steals, two blocks and two makes from three to complete his beautiful line. Many questioned Oubre's production post-All-Star break last season, but the young forward has quieted doubters and looks to be a lock to finish in the top-50 in all formats this season.--Gianni Costantiello - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoPhoenix Suns guard Devin Booker had a game to forget as he managed to score just 12 points while adding seven turnovers, but his club still managed to record the win on Sunday over the Hornets. Booker connected on just 3-for-12 shooting but did salvage his night with nine assists, four boards with a steal and a block. The line is not the worst if your league doesn't count turnovers as Booker registered his first block since December 10th. Booker will have a chance to bounce back on Tuesday against the Hawks who he scored 27 points and added seven assists against earlier in the season.--Gianni Costantiello - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoPhoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton tweaked his ankle on Sunday but managed to play through it as he scored an efficient 18 points in 26 minutes off the bench. Ayton finished the game making nine of his 15 shot attempts and added nine boards while adding two steals and a block in the win over the Hornets. Coach Williams also added that they are bringing Ayton along slowly after being out for 25 games with a suspension and also missing time due to an injury. We can assume he will good to go on Tuesday when his club faces the Hawks but stayed tuned for any setbacks for the second-year big.--Gianni Costantiello - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoCharlotte Hornets guard Terry Rozier could not find the rim on Sunday when he connected on just one of 10 shooting en route to a dismal five points in the eight-point loss. Rozier did not add much else as he added just two rebounds with two assists and no defensive numbers or triples in 28 minutes of action. Rozier came into this one sizzling as he recorded at least 23 points in each of his last five games prior and we can give him a pass in this one. The Hornets are looking for answers as they are struggling, and Rozier needs to get back on track in order for this to happen.--Gianni Costantiello - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoCharlotte Hornets forward PJ Washington could not things going on Sunday when managed to score just four points on 1-for-6 shooting in the disappointing outing for the rookie. Washington did add three rebounds with two assists and a steal with his only make from the floor coming from behind the arc. The Hornets have been struggling and coach Borrego decided to give Nicolas Batum and Dwayne Bacon a long look tonight with both of these wings playing 32 minutes. We can assume this will not cut into Washington's minutes, but keep an eye on this situation if you are an owner of Washington.--Gianni Costantiello - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoDenver Nuggets power forward/center Nikola Jokic poured in 20 points and did some serious work on the glass when he recorded a game-high 15 rebounds in the big win over the Clippers on Sunday. Jokic also kicked in six assists with a steal while recording just two turnovers in 31 minutes of work. Jokic did have his minutes cut a bit short as he got himself into some foul issues when he was trying to keep up with the quicker, Montrezl Harrell. It is more than safe to say that Jokic has turned the corner as he looks to have improved his conditioning and we see him being a top-10 player the rest of the way for owners.--Gianni Costantiello - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoDenver Nuggets forward Jerami Grant connected on just two of his six shot attempts, but still managed to score 11 points with some nice extras on Sunday in the 10-point victory. Grant also struggled at the line making just seven of 11 of his attempts, but he managed to block two shots while grabbing two rebounds with two assists and adding a steal in the start for the injured Paul Millsap (knee). The Nuggets next game is not until Wednesday and it is the first night of a back-to-back, so we could see Grant get another start and once again, be a popular DFS pick.--Gianni Costantiello - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoDenver Nuggets guard Gary Harris finally put together a nice line as the guard has been struggling over his last handful of games in the 114-104, statement win over the Clippers. Harris recorded 15 points on 5-for-9 shooting and added two triples while adding three steals and three rebounds with two assists in just 24 minutes of action. Harris picked up the slack with Will Barton struggling on this night as he scored just six points while adding five rebounds with a single steal and a block. The Nuggets are deep, and Harris has not yet shown to be a 100% trusted player in 12-team leagues, but keep a close eye on him.--Gianni Costantiello - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoLos Angeles Clippers shooting guard/small forward Kawhi Leonard connected on 12 of his 25 shots overall to score 30 points, but his club came up 10 points shorts in the loss to the Nuggets on Sunday. Leonard provided a full line as he added five rebounds and four assists with an excellent three steals with three turnovers in 36 minutes of action. Leonard has picked up the slack with Paul George (hamstring) out and the All-Star is averaging 30.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.7 steals across his last three games.--Gianni Costantiello - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoLos Angeles Clippers guard Lou Williams got inserted into the starting unit on Sunday and made the most of his extra minutes in the 114-104 loss to the Nuggets. Williams did a solid job knocking down his shots as he connected on 8-for-17 shooting en route to his 26 points while adding four rebounds, four assists and a steal in 35 minutes of run. Coach Rivers looked to mix things up in this one with Paul George (hamstring) still sidelined, but the experiment came up short in the 10-point loss. George is due back soon, so we can assume Williams will return to his usual bench role.--Gianni Costantiello - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoNew Orleans Pelicans small/power forward Kenrich Williams has been ruled out for Monday’s outing versus the Detroit Pistons due to a back ailment, which will mark his fourth consecutive contest on the sidelines. Williams has failed to score in eight of his last nine games, giving him very little value even when he is cleared to return. Brandon Ingram figures to remain in a prominent spot in the frontcourt in Williams' absence. His next chance at taking the floor comes Thursday against the Jazz.--Jesse Borek - RotoBallerSource: New Orleans Pelicans

2 weeks agoBoston Celtics power forward/center Daniel Theis has picked up a questionable designation for Monday’s contest versus the Chicago Bulls due to a sore right knee. Theis has started each of Boston’s 21 previous outings, but has averaged just 21 minutes in that span, which has left him as a deep-league fantasy option only at this point in the year. Should he be sidelined against a Bulls defense that has scuffled mightily at slowing opposing centers, Enes Kanter would likely see a significant uptick in both usage and minutes. Check back closer to tip-off to get a final read on Theis and his status.--Jesse Borek - RotoBallerSource: Boston Celtics
