2 years agoThe 41-year-old PGA Tour veteran is from San Diego, but Charley Hoffman has to feel at home heading into this week's Valero Texas Open. The TPC San Antonio track has been a comfortable place for Hoffman during his career. Before winning the Valero Texas Open in 2016, Hoffman had posted top-15 finishes in four consecutive years. He is in good form as he heads to San Antonio, as Hoffman followed a tie for 12th at the Masters with a solid 23rd-place finish at last week's RBC Heritage.--Joe Nicely - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

2 years agoThe 2017 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year looked good in his RBC Heritage debut, finishing in a tie for 32nd place. Many experts thought the tight Harbour Town layout would clash with Schauffele's long-driving style, but he adapted well. The X-Man opened with back-to-back 68s before fading over the weekend. Schauffele is headed to the Valero Texas Open this week. Though he missed the cut in his debut last year, TPC San Antonio should set up well for Schauffele's great ability off the tee.--Joe Nicely - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

2 years agoKevin Kisner entered the final round of the RBC Heritage right in the thick of things, trailing the leader by only four shots. However, he was unable to get anything going on Sunday and shot a disappointing final-round 72 to finish tied for seventh. The Kiz has been trending in the right direction since a surprising run to the WGC-Dell Match Play final. He is not in the field at this week’s Valero Texas Open, but DFS players should keep an eye on the streaky Kisner going forward.--Joe Nicely - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

2 years agoExpectations grew for Brian Harman after he began 2018 in such dominating fashion. Unfortunately, Harman hasn't remained the top-five machine that we saw at the start of the PGA Tour season. Following a disappointing Masters performance, Harman finished in a mediocre tie for 23rd in the RBC Heritage. Though he played solid, DFS players that paid up for Harman have to be feeling let down. He will take some time off and skip this week's Valero Texas Open.--Joe Nicely - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

2 years agoIt has been an impressive month for the 42-year-old Englishman. Since putting his former Ryder Cup putter back in the bag in March, Ian Poulter has been on fire. He followed an unexpected deep run in the WGC-Dell Match Play with a win at the Houston Open to qualify for the Masters. Last weekend at the RBC Heritage, Poulter entered the final round with the lead and a chance to win. Though he faded on Sunday, his seventh-place finish was another impressive result for Poulter. He is not in the field at this week’s Valero Texas Open.--Joe Nicely - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

2 years agoKevin Chappell missed the cut by one stroke at this week's RBC Heritage in Hilton Head. Chappell couldn't keep big numbers off his card, as he recorded an unbelievable four double-bogeys in his two rounds at Harbour Town, including a back-breaking double-bogey on the 17th hole of his second round. This moved Chappell to plus-two for the tournament and a birdie on the last hole wasn't enough to keep him around for the weekend. Chappell has disappointed fantasy players in his last two tournaments but will look to rebound next week at the Valero Texas Open, where he is the defending champion.--Joe Nicely - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

2 years agoFollowing an impressive Masters debut, Tony Finau (ankel) will not play in next week’s Valero Texas Open. Finau played through a severe ankle sprain at Augusta National to finish in 10th place. He will miss the Valero Texas Open, a tournament where he finished tied for third in 2017, presumably to rest and rehab his ankle. It isn’t known how much time the young star will be forced to miss with the injury.--Joe Nicely - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

2 years agoLuke Donald’s long stretch of dominance at Harbour Town Golf Links ended Friday with a missed cut. Following a dismal opening-round 76, Donald battled back to shoot 67 in the second round but fell one stroke short of the even-par cut line. The missed cut ends an unbelievable stretch of success in Hilton Head for Donald that included three second-place finishes in the last four years. He is scheduled to tee it up in the Valero Texas Open next week.--Joe Nicely - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

2 years agoFor the third straight year, Gary Woodland has missed the cut at the Masters. Woodland's tournament was done before it even got started. After bogeying five of his first six holes in his opening round on Thursday, Woodland was never able to get out of reverse for the rest of the week. Woodland has not been the same golfer since his win at the Waste Management Phoenix Open earlier this season. Since that tournament, he has had three missed cuts and two finishes of 49th and 50th. Woodland will look for a bounce-back effort the next time he tees it up.--Spencer Aguiar - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

2 years agoKiradech Aphibarnrat has to wonder what could have been if it wasn't for his meltdown performance on Thursday at the Masters. His T44 showing doesn't even begin to explain what exactly happened. Aphibarnrat shot a seven-over in his opening round, eliminating himself from real contention, but managed to bounce back the next three days to shoot a 70, 72 and 71. Aphibarnrat is starting to make a big statement each time he is entered into a PGA event. With a T15 at the 2016 Masters and a T25 at the 2013 PGA Championship, it shouldn't be long before he adds another nice showing at a major.--Spencer Aguiar - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

2 years agoFrancesco Molinari shot a two-under at the 2018 Masters to finish tied for 20th. Molinari, who is very short with his driver, manages to find his name near the top of all participants every weekend when it comes to strokes gained off the tee and strokes gained tee to green. It is a bit of a misleading stat when it comes to his game, but one that is still amazing to see. Molinari puts his drives into play and uses his immaculate irons to make up for being impaired length-wise. His upside at a course with length tends to be reduced, but statistically it is always a thing to marvel at that someone so short off the tee could be so great stat-wise.--Spencer Aguiar - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

2 years agoRafael Cabrera-Bello had a modest showing at this year's Masters, shooting a three-over while finishing tied for 38th. Cabrera-Bello was a bit all over the place throughout the four days. He finished with 17 birdies, 16 bogeys, two double-bogeys and 37 pars. His birdie production was a nice buffer for his 38th-place finish, but his lack of any eagles did hurt the upside for his subpar finishing position. This week, Cabrera-Bello will take his talents to the Open de Espana, where he is the second favorite to win the tournament at 14/1. Jon Rahm is the heavy favorite in the field at a ludicrous 3.5/1.--Spencer Aguiar - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

2 years agoCharley Hoffman enters this week’s RBC Heritage in good form. He has been playing solid golf in 2018 and has three top-20s in his last four tournaments. Hoffman had a great week at the Masters, including an exciting hole-in-one on the par-three 16th hole in the final round. He has experienced mixed results at Harbour Town, missing the cut last year but finishing 14th in 2016. Hoffman should continue his solid play this week and pay off his $7,700 DraftKings price tag.--Joe Nicely - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

2 years agoThe 2017 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year will be making his Harbour Town debut at this week's RBC Heritage. The strategic tee shots required on the Pete Dye designed course seem to be at odds with Xander Schauffele's power and length with the driver. It will be interesting to see if the young 24-year-old can adapt his game this week. Schauffele announced his presence in professional golf last year by utilizing his strength off the tee, but he won't be able to overpower Harbour Town. The rising star is a bit of an unknown commodity this week, but his DraftKings price of $7,700 makes him an intriguing GPP play.--Joe Nicely - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

2 years agoPatrick Reed took home his first career major and first green jacket with a one-shot victory over Rickie Fowler at the Masters. Reed led after the second and third rounds and took a three-shot lead into Sunday's final round. After an up-and-down front nine, Reed made clutch putts at 12 and 14 to get to the eventual winning score of 15-under par. He lagged a delicate downhill putt at 18 to three feet and made the comebacker to secure the victory. Reed will be teamed up with Patrick Cantlay in two weeks at the Zurich Classic, and it will be interesting to see what music the first time major winner chooses for his walk-out song.--Chris Mangano - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour
