2 years agoMiami Heat center Hassas Whiteside will not play against the Boston Celtics on Saturday. Head coach Erik Spoelstra said Whiteside is "day-to-day" with a knee injury, and did go through drills, but no practice. This is will be Whiteside's fourth straight game on the sideline, but will hopefully be back next week. Bam Adebayo started for Whiteside on Wednesday and scored four points with eight rebounds in just under 20 minutes. Once Whiteside is back on the court he's going to make a huge impact as he scored 26 with 22 boards in the season opener.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Manny Navarro

2 years agoCleveland Cavaliers guard Dwyane Wade is listed as questionable to play versus the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday. Wade was reportedly able to fully workout on Saturday, but continues to deal with a left knee contusion. It's unlikely we get an update on Wade's status until head coach Ty Lue addresses the media before game time. If Wade is unable to play then both J.R. Smith and Kyle Korver will see additional minutes on Saturday.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Joe Vardon

2 years agoCleveland Cavaliers point guard Derrick Rose as been listed as questionable to play against the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday. Rose has missed the last three games with an ankle injury, but head coach Ty Lue wants Rose in the starting lineup until he's healthy enough to return. If Rose is still sidelined on Saturday then LeBron James may handle the point guard duties again. There will be no exact word on Rose's health until coach Ty Lue addresses the media before game time.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Joe Vardon

2 years agoHouston Rockets guard/forward Trevor Ariza has been upgraded to questionable to play against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday. Ariza is dealing with a foot injury, but is clearly heading in the right direction and is rapidly improving. He was able to shootaround on Friday, and has a chance to play Saturday. Even if Ariza is a no go on Saturday there's a good chance he returns next week. Luc Mbah a Moute will continue to play in the starting lineup until Ariza returns.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Jonathan Feigen

2 years agoDallas Mavericks guard Devin Harris is expected to return against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday. Harris did play against the Grizzlies on Wednesday, he logged in 10 minutes and scored six points. He did not travel with the team when they played in Memphis the following day. He decided to say in Dallas, and be with his family as they deal with the unfortunate passing of his brother. Head coach Rick Carlisle expects Harris to return against the Sixers and play a limited role. Hard to own Harris as he's playing a very limited role right now.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Earl K. 2 years agoGolden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson played well on a Friday night that saw his team defeat the visiting Washington Wizard 120-117. In a fast-paced game that included a wrestling match between shooting guard Bradley Beal and power forward Draymond Green, Thompson posted 18 points on 8-for-18 from the field and 2-for-8 from behind the three-point line. He also continued to display his defensive dominance, recording two blocks on the night. Though Thompson often gets overshadowed by a team full of superstars, he remains one of the most effective fantasy options available.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 years agoGolden State Warriors point guard Steph Curry played well against the Washington Wizards despite his struggles shooting the ball. Curry had 20 points in the 120-117 win over the Washington Wizards but was an uncharacteristic 3-for-13 from behind the arch. The former MVP is putting up the worst three-point numbers of his career, currently sitting at 33 percent from downtown. Despite his inefficient touch, his near 28 points per game is third-best in the league. Curry will look to get his shot back on Sunday against a Detroit Pistons team that is struggling defending the deep ball.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 years agoGolden State Warriors small forward Kevin Durant led all scorers in the 120-117 win over the Washington Wizards. Durant scored 31 points on 9-for-20 from the field. He was also perfect from the free throw line and did his part in cleaning up the glass, pulling down 11 boards on the night. He displayed his defensive prowess by adding two blocks to his resume and is currently leading the league with nearly three blocks per game. Durant is putting up MVP numbers this season and is always a sure bet to accumulate fantasy points regardless of the matchup.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 years agoGolden State Warriors power forward Draymond Green was ejected during the team's narrow 120-117 win over the visiting Washington Wizards. After getting into a tussle with shooting guard Bradley Beal, Green found himself heading to the showers prematurely during the second quarter. However, he was still able to produce from a fantasy standpoint and had six assists, three points and three blocks on the night. With his status uncertain for the upcoming contest with the Detroit Pistons on Sunday, look for small forward Andre Iguodala to see an increase in minutes if Green is forced to sit out due to a potential suspension.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 years agoWashington Wizards small forward Otto Porter played well in the team's 120-117 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Friday night. Porter posted a double-double and led the team in scoring with 29 points on the night. He is playing the best basketball of his career thus far, averaging 19 points and eight rebounds per contest this season. Porter could be in store for another efficient fantasy performance when the team takes on the Sacramento Kings on Sunday, especially if shooting guard Bradley Beal finds himself suspended due to the physical altercation with power forward Draymond Green.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 years agoWashington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal didn't stay on the court long in the team's Friday night loss to the Golden State Warriors. Beal, who had four points, three boards and two assists, found himself heading to the locker room prematurely after a wrestling match with power forward Draymond Green late in the second quarter, leading to an ejection for both players. With the Wizards now sitting at 3-2 on the year, the team will stay in California and visit the Sacramento Kings on Sunday. However, with Beal's status uncertain as a result of a potential suspension, shooting guard Jodi Meeks could be the main benefactor.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 years agoCharlotte Hornets center Dwight Howard played spectacular on Friday night despite the team losing to the Houston Rockets 109-93. Howard posted a double-double, scoring 19 points and pulling down a monstrous 16 boards on the night. Howard, who signed with the team over the Summer, has been playing at a level reminiscent of his days with Orlando, averaging 14 points and 17 rebounds per game. As long as remains healthy, as back problems have plagued him throughout his career, he will likely have surpassed his average draft position by far by the end of the season.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

Walker was 8-for-22 from the field and was also an efficient 4-for-6 from beyond the arch. However, it wasn't enough as the Rockets were able to pull out the W, worsening the Hornet's record to 2-3 on the season. The all-star is playing at a high-level despite the team's inefficient play and is averaging 22 points. In total, he posted a stat line of 27 points, 11 assists and 10 boards making him one of the best fantasy options on Friday night.
