1 year agoMaking his first start since the Players Championship, Phil Mickelson will be hoping his three-week break will help revitalize his game and energy. In his previous two starts at the Memorial Tournament, Mickelson finished T20 and T22, respectively. Putting will be essential this week at Muirfield Village Country Club, and Mickelson is ranked second in strokes gained-putting and is fifth in strokes gained total. So long as Mickelson can find the majority of fairways, Lefty can apply some pressure, and not as just a headliner. Mickelson is ranked 19th in the Official World Golf Rankings and has a scoring average of 70.049.--Todd Dorsa - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

1 year agoIf you take away Luke List's two aberrational finishes at The Players Championship and the Valero Texas Open, two events he missed the cut at, you would be left with a player who has shown immense upside and consistency in 2018. Outside of those two tournaments, List has made his last nine cuts in the calendar year, which includes four top-10s and five more top-26 finishes. The level of improvement from List is staggering, mostly when considering he has only made a little over 50 percent of his career cuts on tour. The most amazing part of List's turnaround might be the fact that he is doing all of this as a 33-year-old former grinder, not some young up-and-coming prodigy. List is still looking for his first win on the PGA Tour, but with the level of improvement he has shown, we would not bet against him getting a win before the year is over.--Spencer Aguiar - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

1 year agoAfter finishing in second place at the AT&T Byron Nelson to Aaron Wise, Marc Leishman looks ready to capture another win. Leishman has been steadily progressing in the right direction with six top-10 finishes this season alone. In the last five years, Leishman finished in the top 25 three times and had one top-five finish at the Memorial Tournament, showing he knows how to get around Muirfield Village. Leishman is ranked 16th in the Official World Golf Rankings and has a scoring average of 70.324.--Todd Dorsa - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

1 year agoBryson DeChambeau, who picked up his maiden win at the 2017 John Deere Classic, has been steadily closing in on his second career PGA Tour title. The young American prodigy has had countless close calls, including four top-five finishes in the last three months alone. The unbelievable run DeChambeau has been on has catapulted him up over 50 spots in the Official World Golf Rankings since January, going from 94th to his current ranking of 38th. DeChambeau comes into the week as one of the highest projected owned players in the field but still makes for a tough player to fade at his inexpensive $7,700 price tag on DraftKings. However, if you are genuinely looking for a reason to not use DeChambeau, he does only rank 117th in sand saves in his last 24 rounds compared to the field. Muirfield Village has 71 treacherous bunkers littered throughout the course.--Spencer Aguiar - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

1 year agoA Saturday 77 was Tommy Fleetwood's only hiccup on his way to a seven-under par finish at the BMW PGA Championship. Fleetwood posted rounds of 70, 68 and 66 in his other three rounds and played well overall. It gives him some momentum heading into the U.S. Open in a couple weeks, an event he finished fourth at a year ago in just his second appearance. He could improve on that this year.--Chris Mangano - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

1 year agoAfter opening rounds of 65 and 67, Rory McIlroy was in prime position to win the BMW PGA Championship heading to the weekend. But rounds of 71 and 70, coupled with rounds of 66 and 68 from eventual winner Francesco Molinari, left McIlroy alone in second place two shots behind. Still, it was a good week for the Irishman and sets him up well for this week's Memorial Tournament and the U.S. Open in two weeks. He'll be one of the favorites in each tournament.--Chris Mangano - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

1 year agoJustin Rose picked up his second win on tour in 2018, winning by three shots over Brooks Koepka at the Fort Worth Invitational. Rose never fired a round worse than 66, using two 66s and two 64s to power his way to victory. Rose is having one of his best seasons on tour with two wins, five top-10s and no missed cuts in 10 events. He will be a threat to win both this week at the Memorial and again at the U.S. Open in two weeks.--Chris Mangano - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

1 year agoJon Rahm continued his good play with a top-five finish at the Fort Worth Invitational. Rahm shot rounds of 68, 70, 64 and 68 for a solid 10-under par. Rahm will take the next two weeks off before playing in his third U.S. Open. In his previous two attempts, he has a missed cut and a T23 finish, but he must be considered a threat given his current form.--Chris Mangano - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

1 year agoJason Day is coming in as one of the favorites this week at the Memorial Tournament, and with a win and a T5 in his last two starts, one would have to agree. Day leads the tour in two strokes-gained categories -- putting and total. In 2017, Day finished T15 alongside fellow countryman Marc Leishman. Day is ranked eighth in the Official World Golf Rankings and has a scoring average of 69.522.--Todd Dorsa - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

1 year ago2014 was a fantastic year for Hideki Matsuyama. He recorded four top-10 finishes, and one of them was a win at the Memorial Tournament to be exact. To follow up a brilliant performance in 2015, Matsuyama finished T5 alongside Jim Furyk and Marc Leishman. In the next two years, he missed the cut and had a dismal T45 finish. Coming off a top-25 finish last week, Matsuyama is poised to tackle the Memorial Tournament again. Matsuyama is ranked 10th in the Official World Golf Rankings and has a scoring average of 70.989.--Todd Dorsa - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

1 year agoJustin Thomas was minted the world No. 1 after his T11 finish at the Players Championship, overtaking Dustin Johnson, who held the spot for 64 weeks. Thomas already has two wins and a handful of top-10s this season heading into this week's event the Memorial Tournament. Last year, Thomas finished T4 alongside Matt Kuchar, and with his superior length and precision iron game, look for his name on the leaderboard this weekend.--Todd Dorsa - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

1 year agoAlex Noren started his title defense off on the right foot, carding a three-under 69. On Friday, Noren went one better, shooting a brisk four-under 68 to set himself up for the weekend. Noren looked as if he had stalled out at the end of moving day, carding an OK two-under par 70, but he kicked it into overdrive on Sunday with a show-stopping, five-under 67 to finish three back of the winner, Francesco Molinari. Noren is ranked 17th in the Official World Golf Rankings and has a scoring average of 70.30.--Todd Dorsa - RotoBallerSource: European Tour

1 year agoMatt Kuchar had a very weird set of rounds last week at the Fort Worth Invitational. On Friday, Kuchar opened with a welcoming three-under par 67, then completely flopped with a three-over 73. Saturday saw Kuchar fire back with a five-under 65, but only to falter on Sunday, shooting even par to finish T32 at five-under par. Kuchar rolls into the Memorial Tournament this week, where he won in 2013, and he also has three top finishes in the last five years. Kuchar is ranked 23rd in the Official World Golf Rankings and has a scoring average of 70.604--Todd Dorsa - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

1 year agoRickie Fowler posted another top-25 finish in 2018 at the Fort Worth Invitational. Fowler carded four rounds under par, finishing for a total of seven-under par. Looking ahead to this week, Fowler will be heading to the Memorial Tournament, where he finished T2 along with Anirban Lahiri. Fowler was fifth in the strokes gained putting category at 6.630, but needs work on his proximity to the hole, which is at 36 feet and five inches. Heading into this week, Fowler is ranked sixth in the Official World Rankings and has a scoring average of 69.943.--Todd Dorsa - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

1 year agoJordan Spieth finished T32 this past week at the Fort Worth Invitational in a lackluster performance. He shot three rounds under par but never went lower than two-under to finish at five-under for the event. This week, the three-time major champ heads to the Memorial Tournament, where has had four top-25 finishes in the last five years, including a T3 in 2015. Spieth’s game looks good, but all the pieces need to fall in place for him to catch fire and make a run at a few more titles. Spieth is ranked fifth in the Official World Golf Rankings and has a scoring average of 69.838.--Todd Dorsa - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour
