Owen Caissie Slumping Through August
4 months agoChicago Cubs outfield prospect Owen Caissie has been in a bit of a slump since the start of the month at Triple-A Iowa. Since August 1, the former second-round selection has gone 8-for-38 with a .211/.225/.421 line, two home runs, four RBI, and a poor 1:13 BB:K ratio. Through July, the number-three ranked prospect in the Cubs pipeline held a solid .250/.291./.423 line. Overall, through his first look at Triple-A pitching, the 22-year-old has posted a solid .270/.363/.445 line with 12 round-trippers and 54 RBI. The number 33 ranked prospect in baseball should push for a late-season major league debut if he can break out of this minor slump.
