Otto Porter Jr. Announces Retirement
9 months agoForward Otto Porter Jr. has announced his retirement from basketball. The third-overall pick of the 2013 draft, who won the NBA championship with the Golden State Warriors in 2022, steps aside after playing in 527 regular-season games. His final appearances came in 2023-24 with the Toronto Raptors, who traded Porter Jr. to the Utah Jazz on Feb. 8. The Jazz waived him before Porter Jr. announced his retirement. "For the past 11 years, I had the chance to live my lifelong dream of playing in the NBA," said Porter Jr. "That dream was capped by winning an NBA Championship! Unfortunately, my body is not allowing me to play at the level that I expect of myself, and I have therefore decided to retire." Porter Jr. averaged 10.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.1 steals for his career.
