Oswald Peraza To Undergo Imaging
9 months agoNew York Yankees infielder Oswald Peraza is set to undergo imaging on his shoulder after continued discomfort while throwing, according to manager Aaron Boone. The 23-year-old has logged just seven hitless at-bats while he has also been hit by a pitch in one of his eight trips to the plate in early Grapefruit League action. Peraza is currently blocked on the left side of the Yankees' infield by Anthony Volpe and DJ LeMahieu while Gleyber Torres remains the everyday second baseman. As a result, he is in competition for a utility role after he hit just .191 with two homers, four stolen bases, and a .539 OPS across 52 appearances with the big club in 2023. He also hit .268 with 14 home runs and 16 stolen bases at Triple-A in the hitter-friendly International League. He is off the fantasy radar given his expected lack of playing time in 2024.
