Orelvis Martinez Bouncing Back From Slump
6 months agoFrom May 8 to May 22, Toronto Blue Jays infield prospect Orelvis Martinez went just 2-for-40 with two home runs in Triple-A Buffalo. Before that, he'd been slashing .299/.379/.598 with eight doubles, nine home runs, and 26 RBI. Fortunately, the 22-year-old slugger has recovered well from his slump. Since May 23, he's slashing .286/.375/.571 with four doubles, four homers, and 11 RBI in 64 plate appearances. Many experts expect the Blue Jays to promote Martinez at some point this season, potentially as early as the end of the summer. Through 57 games in Triple-A, he has a .249/.336/.516 slash line with 12 doubles, 15 home runs, and 43 RBI.
