Obi Toppin Has Been "Frustrated" With His Role In New York
1 year agoNew York Knicks forward Obi Toppin is reportedly unhappy with his situation in the Big Apple. Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News has reported that Toppin "was frustrated at times with his role, although he refrained from complaining to the media" last season. The high-flying forward made 67 regular-season appearances during his third year in the league, making only five starts. He was limited to 15.7 minutes per game and averaged 7.4 points and 2.8 rebounds. Toppin impressed as a starter late in the season, notching 21.8 points per game with 44 percent shooting from downtown, and that might earn him a move elsewhere if things don't work out in New York. Toppin could get a bigger role with the Knicks in 2023-24 if Julius Randle gets moved, but Bondy also mentions Indiana as a potential landing spot for the 25-year-old.
