Nolan Gorman Slugs First Triple-A Homer
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals prospect Nolan Gorman went 3-for-4 with his first Triple-A home run on Wednesday. The homer was a three-run shot from the 21-year-old infielder. Gorman is hitting just .163 through 11 games at the highest level of the minor leagues and he currently has a 30% strikeout rate in the small sample size. Prior to his promotion, he produced a 131 wRC+ with 11 home runs and a .288 batting average in 43 games at Double-A. He also had a 27% strikeout rate — and it had been noticeably climbing at the time of his promotion, which made the timing curious. A natural third baseman, Gorman has spent almost an equal number of games at second base this season. He's ranked by Rotoballer as the 34th-best prospect for dynasty baseball.
