Nicolas Batum 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoCharlotte Hornets shooting guard/small forward Nicolas Batum is entering the final year of his monster contract and is set to make a team-high $25.6 million this season. The Hornets have made it quite clear that they are focusing on youth this season and this does not bode well for the one-time fantasy stud, Batum. He managed to post some of his worst numbers last season in some time with 9.3 points, 5.2 rebounds and just 3.3 assists, but he did see his percentages take a nice upward spike with 45.0% from the floor and 38.9% from three. We can assume he will be relegated to a lower-minute bench role and we could easily see him being moved to a contender at some point this season. He is someone you will want to probably avoid on draft day but is worth a gamble in later rounds.
