Oakland Athletics first base prospect Nick Kurtz is getting a promotion, skipping over High-A Lansing and heading straight to Double-A Midland from Single-A Stockton. The A's first-round pick in this year's draft (fourth overall) belted 61 home runs in 164 games during his three seasons in college. The Wake Forest product came out of the gates hot, slashing .400/.571/.960 with four home runs, 12 RBI, 11 runs scored, and a 10:7 BB:K in just seven games played at Single-A. As if being a first-round selection wasn't enough to do so, the 21-year-old has forcefully thrown his name in the ring for consideration in dynasty leagues.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBaller
