New York Rangers forward Nick Bonino has cleared unconditional waivers and will have his contract terminated. The Rangers waived Bonino recently but gave him the All-Star break and bye week to decide if we wanted to report to the AHL or have his contract terminated, and become a free agent, and he has decided to do the latter. The Rangers gave Bonino a solid opportunity as the team's fourth-line center as he skated in 45 games with the club but managed just one goal and five points while he was a minus-12 on a Rangers team that currently sports a plus-20 overall goal differential, the best in the Metropolitan Division. The club sits first in the Metro with a 31-16-3 record and will take on the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning Wednesday night.--Brenton KempRead More News
