Washington Capitals center Nic Dowd had his best game of the season in Saturday's 5-2 win over Pittsburgh, recording two goals and an assist. He started the scoring with less than two minutes played and made it a four-goal lead early in the third with a short-handed goal. Nicklas Backstrom, Richard Panik, and T.J. Oshie provided the rest of the goals. Braden Holtby picked up his 25th win of the season with a 28-save performance. Dowd is expected to do the dirty work in Washington, so getting any kind of offense from him is a big bonus for the Caps. He now has seven goals and 15 points for the season. The 29-year-old center entered the season with only 48 career points.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
