Nestor Cortes Jr. Looking To Bounce Back In 2024
10 months agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Nestor Cortes did not have a strong 2023 campaign. He dealt with a rotator cuff strain for most of the year, which caused him to make only 12 starts. Across those outings, he had a 4.97 ERA and 67 strikeouts. However, Cortes could be in for a bounce-back year in 2024. For starters, the left-hander got a little unlucky last season on the mound. Both his expected ERA (3.66) and expected batting average against (.216) ranked in the top half of the league. The southpaw is also just two years removed from finishing with a 2.44 ERA. While he might not be able to repeat that season in 2024, there's a chance he could be a reliable fantasy option. He's worth a shot in the later rounds due to his potential upside.
