Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon scored two goals in a victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night. MacKinnon has now scored a goal in all four of Colorado's games this season, giving him six points total. His torrid scoring pace to start the season is being held up by a ridiculous 5.75 shots per game rate, which is currently the second highest rate in the league. MacKinnon did finish last year in the top 10 for shots in the league despite playing only 74 games, so Colorado's star center is accustomed to a high shot volume. His streak presumably will end eventually but in the meantime, MacKinnon is proving that last year's breakout was a sign of things to come.--Russ Ivanac - RotoBaller
