Colorado Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon finished with a goal in Monday's 2-1 overtime loss against the Rangers. MacKinnon opened the scoring by going coast-to-coast to give the Avalanche the lead with under two minutes remaining in the opening period. The 28-year-old brings his season total to 32 goals and 85 points through 50 games, while the dynamic forward has a good chance of winning his first career Hart Memorial Trophy as the most valuable player in the league for the 2023-24 NHL season.
