Nathan Eovaldi Goes Three Innings In Start

Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi allowed two runs on four hits over three innings, while striking out three and walking one in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Padres. Eovaldi went back out for the fourth but a two-run homer by Eric Hosmer chased him from the game. The Red Sox rotation is broken and battered right now so the 29-year-old is back in the rotation. However, it seems that manager Alex Cora is either stretching him out over the remainder of the season or just uses Eovaldi as an extended opener. Over 17 appearances, he's 1-0 with a 6.64 ERA, a 5.86 FIP, and a 38/19 K/BB. He's slated to get a start on Friday against the Angels. However, he can't be used in fantasy again until he's allowed to go deeper into ballgames.
