The Dallas Stars locked up one of their cornerstone players on Saturday. The club signed Miro Heiskanen to an eight-year contract with an annual average value of $8.45 million. That makes him the sixth-highest paid defenseman in the NHL. The 21-year-old player averaged close to 25 minutes a game in 2020-21 and is already considered a strong defender. Heiskanen also has immense offensive upside. He scored eight goals and recorded 27 total points in 55 games last season. Heiskanen debuted during the 2018-19 season at a 19-year-old after being selected third overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. The Finland native has the skills necessary to be a top-pairing defenseman in Dallas for many years to come and could soon become a top fantasy target. --Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
