Mike Soroka Can't Make It Five Innings Despite Big Lead

As we said earlier, it was a risky move to start Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Mike Soroka in your lineup Tuesday. Maybe it was nerves that ultimately kept Soroka from making it through five innings on Tuesday despite being staked to an early six-run lead. After all, the 20-year-old righty was pitching in his home country in a Major League game. Atlanta did go on to win handily, but he gave up all four runs that Toronto scored over the course of 4 2/3 innings. Soroka also didn't impress with a mere two strikeouts, and he walked two. Still, he's a kid, and pitching at home against the Reds next time out should help him.
