Mike Montgomery Likely To Work In Swingman Role For Cubs
7 years agoChicago Cubs pitcher Mike Montgomery is likely going to have a similar role with the club as he did last year. In 2017 the left-hander appeared in 44 games, 14 of which were starts. Montgomery stated earlier in the offseason that he has a desire to start. Depending on how the Cubs round out their rotation, Montgomery is likely to be the teams' swingman. Should he start, he will have streaming appeal and be an option in NL-only leagues but doesn't warrant being draft in any leagues to start the 2018 campaign.
