Mike Conley 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoUtah Jazz point guard Mike Conley had a very good individual year last season, scoring a career-high 21.1 points per game and dishing out 6.4 assists, to prove that he's among the best point guards in the league when healthy. Conley had a very tough time with injuries during his final few seasons in Memphis, but he finally managed to stay relatively healthy in 2018-19, playing in 70 games for the first time in four years. He was stuck on a miserable team, so the Grizzlies all-time leading scorer didn't get to enjoy the season much, but he's in a great place to perform now after signing with the Jazz, who already took a big leap forward last season. They will be aiming high in the upcoming season after reshaping the roster over the summer and Conley will be at the heart of it. Conley will be 32 in October, so he's in the twilight of his career, but as he showed last season, there's still plenty of high-level basketball left in him. Donovan Mitchell is a great backcourt mate for Conley, and with shooters all around him, he's in a great spot to surpass his current career-high in assists (6.5).
