Mike Clevinger's Postseason Availability In Doubt

San Diego Padres starter Mike Clevinger (biceps) will likely be unavailable in the wild-card series against the St. Louis Cardinals, per ESPN’s Jeff Passan. After a bullpen session Tuesday, concerns remain about Clevinger’s health, and it’s possible he misses the entire playoffs. Acquired at the trade deadline, the 29-year-old made four starts for San Diego, posting a 2.84 ERA and 0.89 WHIP before being shut down Sept. 23 with biceps tightness. It’s a tough blow for both the player and the team. The Friars will lean heavier on struggling starter Chris Paddack and possibly Garrett Richards to absorb innings for their playoff run.
