Miguel Andujar Diagnosed With Labrum Tear
6 years agoResults have come in for New York Yankees third baseman Miguel Andujar and they're ominous. After their game Monday night, manager Aaron Boone announced the 24-year-old was diagnosed with a small labrum tear, with surgery a possibility. At this point, he will be monitored for the next two weeks with no baseball activity. Eventually, surgery could be an option following this monitoring process. This could be a huge blow for the Yankees, who opted to stick with Andujar when free agency was an option for possible upgrade at third. At this point, they could explore the possibility of a trade if Andujar ultimately has the surgery, but if they don't, DJ LeMahieu would be in for a significant increase in playing time.
