5 years agoWashington Nationals starting pitcher Max Scherzer has been named as Tuesday's starting pitcher for the wild-card game, according to manager Dave Martinez. It's a winner-take-all game, so no one is shocked that the Nats decided to go with Scherzer here. The Nationals will play either the Cardinals or Brewers, so whichever team doesn't win the National League Central. Joe Ross will handle the start for Sunday's season finale since Scherzer is pitching on Tuesday.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
