Matt Shaw Hasn't Missed A Beat In Triple-A
4 months agoChicago Cubs infield prospect Matt Shaw has now played 12 games for Triple-A Iowa and has adjusted well to his new home. The Cubs No. 1 prospect per MLB Pipeline was the team's first-round pick in 2023 and has rapidly ascended through the system. Shaw opened the season with Double-A Tennessee, but received his promotion to Iowa with teammates Kevin Alcantara and James Triantos two weeks ago. Since that time, Shaw has hit .263 with two homers, seven RBI and two stolen bases in 38 at-bats. Between Tennessee and Iowa, Shaw has hit .277 with 16 homers, 57 RBI and 27 stolen bases. It might be too aggressive to promote Shaw to the big-league roster this season, but he should be looking at an opportunity at making his mark in the big leagues by 2025. With his versatility and ability to hit the ball to all fields, Shaw looks to be worth the investment in dynasty leagues.
