2 years agoOakland Athletics outfielder Matt Joyce was placed on the 10-day disabled list on Wednesday with back tightness, per Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle. The 33-year-old has never missed time with back tightness before and was hoping to return Wednesday after missing the last two games. However, with fellow outfielder Stephen Piscotty also day-to-day with quadriceps soreness, manager Bob Melvin did not want to take any risks. Twenty-seven-year-old outfielder Nick Martini will be called up from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move. Joyce is batting just .196 on the season and Martini has spent eight years in the minors with no major league experience, so fantasy players should stay away from both at this time.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
