Martin Truex Jr. Starts Third At The Daytona Road Course
4 years agoJoe Gibbs Racing's Martin Truex Jr. will start from the third position in Sunday's Go Bowling 235 at the Daytona International Speedway Road Course. Truex Jr. comes into Daytona on a hot streak after the No. 19 has finished in third, in four straight races. Truex has also been a force to reckon with when the Cup Series heads to a road course. Truex has four career road course wins, three at Sonoma and one at Watkins Glen, and was a turn away from winning the inaugural Charlotte Roval race, before Jimmie Johnson spun and wiped him out. Sure, Truex will not have any upside, starting at the front, and is an expensive option in DFS, but his prowess on road courses makes him a contender for the win.
