Martin Truex Jr Must Serve Pass-Through Penalty to Start Brickyard 400
5 months agoMartin Truex Jr will start Sunday afternoon's Brickyard 400 from a bit of a hole, as the Joe Gibbs Racing driver will have to drop to the rear of the field and then serve a pass-through penalty on pit road once the race starts. Luckily for Truex, Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a massive race track and it's unlikely that he will go a lap down. Therefore, Truex will be able to catch back up with the field on the first caution. With that being said, it is still a disadvantage and something that the No. 19 team will have to overcome on Sunday. In the past, Truex has been fast at Indianapolis, but over his last four starts on the oval, he's finished 27th or worse. In DFS contests, he will still be scored from his official starting position of 14th. Truex still has the potential to compete for a top-10 result on Sunday, and it may be worth going a little overweight on him in large-field tournaments on DraftKings, but it's probably best to go in a different direction this weekend.
