Marlon Mack 2018 Outlook: ZeroRB Enthusiasts, Pay Attention
6 years agoIndianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack was one of the biggest winners of the NFL offseason. Although the team did draft two RBs in April, they came in the fourth and fifth rounds, possibly serving more as depth and special teams contributors than legitimate threats. With Frank Gore gone to Miami and DeMarco Murray retiring amidst speculation he might join a team like Indy, Mack should have little problem securing the starting job out of training camp. Now he just needs to hold onto it.
Mack averaged 3.8 yards and produced 583 total yards as a rookie, which isn't anything to write home about. The entire Colts offense struggled without Andrew Luck, though. Mack only saw double-digit carries twice all year, so he wasn't given the chance to ever get going either. Assuming Luck is back for good, Mack enters this year as a great RB sleeper in the middle rounds and should be a favorite target of those who employ a ZeroRB strategy.
