Marco Gonzales Gives Up Four In Loss
4 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher Marco Gonzales gave up four runs on seven hits and a walk through five innings in Tuesday's loss to the Rangers. After back-to-back great starts, this was a disappointing outing for Gonzales, especially against a Rangers team ranked 28th in OPS. Gonzales only struck out two batters after striking out 13 batters in 13 1/3 innings between his last two starts. Though Gonzales is not a sexy option at starting pitcher, he won't kill you in any categories and will likely be a matchup-dependent play moving forward, despite underwhelming in this good matchup. His next start is scheduled for Tuesday at the Dodgers and that is not the matchup to play him.
