Malik Beasley 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoComing off a breakout campaign in 2018-19, Malik Beasley presents a fascinating fantasy option this year. On the surface, he appears destined to be lost in the shuffle with Denver, who boasts an embarrassment of riches as it pertains to production, especially on the wing. Should Gary Harris present himself healthy – emphasis on the should – Beasley figures to see the majority of his time with the second unit. But Beasley played so well for the Nuggets in spurts last season that head coach Michael Malone had no choice but to run the sharpshooter out for 23.2 minutes per contest. After two pedestrians NBA campaigns, Beasley erupted last year and averaged 2.0 made triples per game, shooting them at a 40.2 percent clip. He’s predominantly a scoring and three-point option in traditional formats, although he boasts solid DFS upswing on nights when Denver is not at full strength. Aside from deeper leagues, Beasley is likely to go undrafted, but could quickly play his way onto a handful of rosters at the drop of a hat with his explosive offensive arsenal.
