Malachi Corley 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook: Can Rookie Carve Out Consistent Role?
7 months agoMalachi Corley was taken by the New York Jets to open up the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He'll look to earn Aaron Rodgers' trust in the slot and near the line of scrimmage while Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams handle the perimeter/downfield pushes. Corley is powerful, standing with 215 lbs on a 5-foot-11 frame that was first-team All-Conference USA out of Western Kentucky in both 2022 and '23. His receiving lines of 101-1,295-11 and 79-984-11 in those respective years look like traditional receiver output, yet Corley did the majority of his damage of screens, posting a 5.5 average depth of target. This brings in the "YAC King" nickname, with his 2,056 yards after the catch and 838 yards after contact since 2021 leading college football. Can the Jets find a way to unlock Corley's unique blend of vision, power, and speed at the NFL level? And can they do so consistently enough for him to be a fantasy factor in 2024? Mike Williams' early availability may open the door for more Corley as well. The rookie's May ADP is in the 150-200 range on most platforms, meaning the opportunity cost is low for someone on a Rodgers-led offense.
