4 years agoKansas City Royals third baseman Maikel Franco helped lead his team to a 13-2 route of the Chicago Cubs on Thursday, going 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, two runs and two RBI. He now has three home runs and six doubles on the year. Overall, Franco is off to a solid start in his first season with the Royals. There are some plate discipline concerns as he's struck out 12 times and is yet to draw a walk, however his power numbers show a lot to like. He currently boasts a slugging percentage of .518, which is well above his career slugging percentage of .433. He's primarily been hitting sixth or lower in the lineup this year, which limits his run production potential, but regardless, he's worth keeping an eye on in deep leagues and AL-only leagues.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
