Luke Kornet 2019 Player Outlook
5 years agoChicago Bulls power forward/center Luke Kornet did not progress much in his second season, but when given the minutes, he proved to be more than capable of producing fantasy-worthy lines. Think of a poor man's version of Brook Lopez. In a small sample size of six games in April last season, we saw Kornet average 11.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.2 makes from three, but wait, he also averaged an elite 2.7 blocks across 27.3 minutes a night. Yes, that is the absolute ceiling for Kornet, but he is slated to be the primary backup for a Wendell Carter Jr. who is still quite raw and was quite injury prone last season. If Kornet can play anywhere near 20 minutes a night, we can expect at least a make from three and a block a night from the power forward/center position. If you are in leagues deeper than 12 teams, he is worth a look and if WCJ misses any time, run for the waiver wire to grab him.
