Luke Jackson Earns 10th Save
6 years agoAtlanta Braves relief pitcher Luke Jackson earned his tenth save of the season Wednesday allowing two hits and an unearned run but hung on to preserve the win. Jackson was shaky again in this one, he's allowed at least one hit in ten straight appearances. His saving grace is an elite 35.8 percent strikeout rate which has helped him contribute in strikeouts despite getting hit hard recently. Despite the struggles, Jackson still appears to be the preferred choice for saves in the Atlanta bullpen. He is on thin ice however with Jacob Webb still in the saves mix and the team's recalling of former closer A.J. Minter from Triple-A. Jackson should be owned in all leagues where saves are scarce, but it is unwise to expect he'll be the primary closer rest of season.
